What if I have a medical condition?
Please advise us of any health conditions or medications you may be taking as your treatment may not be able to be performed. We also ask that you advise us at the time of booking if you are pregnant as some of our treatments and products may not be safe to have during this time.
What treatments can I have while pregnant & breastfeeding?
We have many facial and beauty treatments available for our pregnant and breastfeeding clients. Our skincare ranges are safe to use whilst pregnant and breastfeeding however we do not recommend using any form of Vitamin A or retinol during this time. We also recommend all massage treatments to be performed in the second trimester onwards.
If you are unsure of what treatment to have, please don’t hesitate to discuss with our reception staff at the time of booking.
How often should I get a facial?
We recommend having a skin treatment once a month to help rejuvenate, resurface and revitalise your skin. We also recommend using our cosmeceutical skincare at home between visits to help maintain a healthy glowing skin.
Will I require ANY downtime after a peel treatment?
All of our Peel treatments require none or little down time. We perform superficial peels in salon and they only remove the very outer layer of the epidermis. They are used to treat uneven skin tone, dryness, acne and ageing. Some skins may experience some redness, slight flaking or dryness after a peel but all are a normal response.
Can I change the treatment my gift certificate was purchased for?
Mahala gift certificates can be purchased for a specific service, or for a dollar amount. If you have been given a gift for a specific service, we are more than happy to transfer the value of the gift to a different treatment. You also don’t have to spend your gift certificate amount all in one go, it can be used over several visits.
